Built for SEMA 2022, Las Vegas
1954 Corvette Restomod
The build
It started as a 1954 Corvette body the owner found in a barn. The goal was to keep the look of the first Corvettes and build a car underneath it with modern power, ride and comfort. DTAB Customs built it for the Spyder Auto booth at the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, and finished it in 76 days.
The body was reshaped by hand to carry 1956 Corvette body lines, including the side coves the later C1s are known for. It rides on a Phat Phabz air-ride, body-dropped chassis with Air Lift management, so the frame sits on the ground when it’s aired out. Power comes from a supercharged 6.2 LSA with an LSX supercharger lid, on show through a custom hood window, kept cool by a Northern Radiator. Sound Depth hand-built the interior.
After its debut in SEMA’s Central Hall, the ’54 went on to win awards at car shows across the country, including Goodguys at Texas Motor Speedway. Back home, it led the Shawnee Christmas Parade carrying OBU President Heath Thomas.
